Three generations have lived, loved, and baked our pastries and cookies with the original recipes of Mama Anna Vallone. Today, James and his wife Geovanna craft Mama's old world Italian excellence into everything they bake for you and for your customers.
Every day, in Carteret, New Jersey, we renew our dedication to the hard work, quality, and customer satisfaction that establishes and sustains our thirty-four year history of success.
. . .
It seems like only yesterday when I was working with my family in out Italian American Delicatessen and catering company. We were catering a 250 person affair and we were putting the finishing touches on our work. The one thing we were waiting for had not arrived all week. The distributor called and said that the cannoli shells were not going to be available from the manufacturer. This meant we had one day to scramble and come up with the shells in record time.
My grandmother was always in the kitchen at home baking throughout her life and at this time it was truly her time to shine. I must tell you that her recipe and our family’s drive made us all very happy with the shells we produced in time for the affair. After the weekend passed, our distributor and long time friend Sal, was delivering to us and saw the extra shells we had around the store. He was very impressed to the point that he had asked my dad to put these cannoli shells into a production mode for weekly pick-up. Ill never forget that day as it proved to be the initial start of Vallone's Pastry and Cookie Factory.
THE THREE MUSKETEERS: UNCLE AL, UNCLE JOHNNY, UNCLE FRANKIE
As time goes by, I think back to my grandmother's three brothers and everything they did for Vallone's Bakery Inc. I feel a strong need to pay homage to them for all of their hard work and spirit lifting antics. Uncle Al was there at the beginning and was with us for some years before his passing. Later, Uncle Johnny and Uncle Frankie were with us frequently and also contributed an enormous amount of work. My uncles were very amusing when they were together, whether at work or at family gatherings. Although they were able to argue very well with each other, and maybe not speak for a while, they always came back to each other with love and laughter. My uncles were very funny and made me laugh a lot. They made my whole life better and my business much more fun! Thank you, Three Musketeers! I will miss you all very much!
A THANK YOU FROM MY HEART AND THE HEART OF OUR COMPANY
The most important thing I can offer on this website is the sincerest “thank you” to all who have helped us prosper through our company's history. Let me start by acknowledging our wholesale customers (owners, purchasing departments, and others), our loyal retail store customers, our on-line customers, all of our past and present dedicated employees, and excellent vendors who have given us outstanding service.
I would like to especially acknowledge Mark Muller who helped me write, record, and produce the wonderful music for our videos. Also, I want to acknowledge the entire team at Drucker Marketing who we appreciate and hold in very high regard!
My heart compels me to mention a few more names: my son Jay Vallone, my mom and dad; James Sr. and Patricia Vallone, Joe Kellermann, Chris Whalen, Dan Carusso, George Harney, Loretta Labrace, Karl from improvlogic.com, and most importantly, my dear wife Geovanna, who has tolerated me in my day-to-day ups and downs both at home and in business. These precious people in my life and many more will always be remembered. My heart is always with all of you!
Love, Jimmy Vallone Jr.
